Backslash Escape

In many programming languages and shells, the backslash acts as an escape character. It tells the interpreter to treat the following character as a literal rather than a command.

The most commonly escaped characters are the backslash itself (\\), single quotes (\'), and double quotes (\"). This ensures they don\'t accidentally terminate string literals or regex patterns.

Stripping backslashes removes the escape character while keeping the literal character that followed it. This is useful for restoring raw text from a pre-escaped code snippet.
